therapy...

both mental and physical...

it was a wonderful day with sunshine and warmer air lightly moving around...

got the peppers planted and just ate on left overs...
no cooking at all...

so I had some extra time to dig in the dirt...
still hard and dry after the rain last week...

so got this worked up and weeded...
and Alice found her new home...

I sat and listened to the birds sing, the dogs bark and lawn mowers in the distance...
every now and then a saw would sing out and then go silent again...

and the little girl next door would hop over every now and then to just chat a bit...

and we took a couple walks and visited with our neighbors...

love this little bird nest...
its right about the bridge...

and I talked to God a bit, too...

just checking in and thanking him for a great weekend...

love the violets in the neighbor's yard...

the beds are getting pretty full...

and there are some areas that need a good thinning out...

all the plants we bought last year made it through the winter...

and another neighbor's lilac...
she let me cut a bunch to bring home...
they are by the kitchen sink...

and they smell so good...
guess we have one more year to wait for ours to bloom...
I can't wait!
it really felt like spring out there today...
its still a little cold digging in the dirt...
the ground is warming up, though...
should be a good week...
one of rest, maybe...
got a few things to do today if I feel up to it...
;)
hope you had time to play in the dirt!

be happy...

where you are...
love this little face...

be happy where you land...
for there is reason you are there...

rose chested grosbeak...
you are either where you are for one of two reasons...

there were two of them...
their first showing this year...

either God put you there because you are willing to follow Him anywhere...

or...
you picked...
and He is waiting for you to let Him lead your life...

columbine...
either way, you are where you are...
and there a lessons to learn...
work to do for Him...
because He can use anyone, in any circumstance...

pain comes to us when we forcefully pave our own way...

but when you follow Him...
the road is already paved for you...

He cleared the path long ago...
bloomers...

planted the tomatoes last night...

should have done it before supper...
it was a bit difficult on a full tummy...

clematis...
stop fighting Him...
you can't win that one...

had a good day yesterday rummaging...
paid for it through the night and this morning...
well, not as bad, but I know I have done something...
got to clean this place up today...

update on Courtney, my cousin's daughter in law...
the one who is doing chemo now...
the doctor's have set a goal...
to be cancer free by Christmas...
;)
God is good...
have a great day...
and make sure to get rested up for the coming week...
got some warm weather moving in!

another day of city wide sales...

all items have already been Lester approved...
do you have a cat like this?
that has to snoop in every bag that comes in the door?

Craig and I took off this morning thinking he would be getting stuff today...
but it was me again...
I found fabric!

this fabric is for outdoor cushions...
so I can cover the ones on the deck...

and she threw in the matching stripe fabric that went with it...

and I love this, Psalms 111:2...
in my colors...

2 purses and a make up bag...

2 king size pillow shams...
for the living room...

curtains with a built in valance...

and this pillow was in this bag, too...

2 ( I think) vintage german bibles...

3 vintage spoons, and one is OHIO!
my place of birth...
the top one is George Washington and the bottom is New Jersey...

a hand forged screw driver and mini pipe wrench...

a 1943 Illinois history book...

this is cool...
US printed money for US soldiers to use in Japan at the end of WWII!

pretty neat...

and there's more...
got some clothes and there is a baker's rack outside...
and Craig did get a dozen and a half golf balls...
Craig went to work at noon and Steve gets off at 3...
the mower guys just got done and left, so guess what time it is?
you know it...
nap time, here I come!
thankfully, Craig wheeled me around in my wheel chair this morning or I wouldn't have made it...
he's a great kid, sometimes...
;)

city wide rummage sales were awesome this morning...

sale #1...
so much fun in one place!
and had a fun time chatting with Sharon, an old antique dealer...

vintage biscuit cutters in the tin!
check out the price!

USA coffee mugs, she had four, only took 2...
and a powder blue small pitcher...

a rose coffee cup...
I will use for hot chocolate...

and a cute little girl...

and this pewter colored behind the toilet shelf unit...

sale #2...
3 vintage pillow cases...
mom had a set of the yellow rose one when I was in jr high...

sale #3...

an angel for the gardens...

there was a box of candle sticks next to a box of votives...
and this is what I put together...

pretty pale pink...

and this huge (and heavy) candle...

I need to do some clean up, but wonderful color...
and not melted...

and we found Alice, just standing there waiting to go home with us...
just did 3 sales...
I took $20...
and spent every dime of it...
got all of this for that!

then out to the green house...
for tomato and pepper plants...

found these, too...

proven winners, wave petunias...
had to have them...

had to water them as soon as we got home...

but my favorite find of the day...
is her...
I made her...
I sold them for $15 at first and then $17...
she is one of the first ones...
I can tell by the hair I used...

someone took care of her...
I never kept one of them...
sold them all because "I could always make another one..."
I and so thrilled to have her back...

we came home and cooked bunches...
then had to do the nap thing...
DH is due home any minute...
just wait until he sees what I found!
;)
have a great weekend and if you are from around here...
hit town in the morning for some awesome sales!
