have you ever noticed?

that the most peaceful places...

the places where you can just breathe in...

where all other thoughts disappear...

are in the places that God made?

that His work is no comparison to anything we try to come up with...

that our soul is at peace and there is contentment there...

without these places...

to run to...

the chaos grabs hold...

but all we have to do is wander back...

closer to Him...

and all is right again...

did you ever notice, that when we build cities...

or our lives...

that we sometimes leave God out of them?
maybe its time to wander back...
and find our peace...
in HIM...

bearing witness to His greatness...

good morning...

it was beautiful out earlier...

got thunder rolling in now...

storms coming in from the west...

and they look nasty...

I was up so early this morning...

so think I will sneak back to bed before the guys get up...

looks like outside stuff isn't happening today anyway...

too broke to go shopping...

really don't want to start the laundry going this early in the morning...
(which is what I usually do)

just a good morning to grab the dog and head back under the covers...

and cuddle the thunder away...

I hope you have a great day today...
and you are not getting bad storms or the flooding...
;0)
prayers for the marines and their families...
for all of our soldiers, near and far...
prayers for peace...

another good day even if its hot...

the other day, coming home from my dr's appointment...
I talked DH into taking a little detour...

a road we hadn't been on since last fall...
but on the way home...

its turned off hot here again...
with heat indexes that will keep me inside all weekend...

during the day, anyway...

I am healing but have a cold starting...
I guess when it goes from 60s to 90s and back and forth long enough...
it can happen...

I am hoping the heavy rains are done for awhile...
and things around here can dry up and clear up...

we got our mowing part done last night...
so if we head out of here early enough, we could replant the green beans...
we got 5 pickings off of the first plants...
and they have stopped producing, so need to pull them and start again...
I really think we can get another round in before fall...
we have peppers and tomatoes coming on now...
and cabbage is making still...
the watermelon should start making baby ones soon...
I should do a post on the garden this weekend so you can see how things are going there...

have a great weekend
;0)

the dream home...

remember what I said yesterday?
that if you were good, I would show you this?
here she is...

could you?
would you?
live in a house like this?

first thing I would do...
is cut down that tree that's in the way!
its on the city's side, so not sure if that could be done...
but it would help the curb appeal...

I have had 3 very good days in a row and am healing up nicely...
got an alone day, so just puttering away...
and napping...
there's always a nap in there...
;0)

heat indexes are back...
it was nice while it lasted...
and it will cool down again, soon...
so have a good weekend...

I survived...

we had a wonderful day to be out without air conditioning...
it was mostly overcast and cooler, with not much humidity...
we went to the surgeon and he did his thing...
I want to mention that he is awesome, and was full of it yesterday...
DH and him teamed up on poor little old me...
and doc has the best nurse in the place...
Tammy just makes my day...
so, all went well and I am doing fine...
no flare!
so we left there and went to Kroger while I was still numb...
then through the drive up at Burger King...
and headed for the lake...

and this was our view for supper...

there was picnic table down by the water...
and that's the one we picked...
and we had a good time there...
talking and eating and just taking all this pretty in...

there was just enough breeze to make it wonderful...

I wish we had a lake like this in our town...

I miss being on the water...

the sun would come and the sun would go...

and when the sun came out...
a million diamonds would appear...

we lingered longer than we usually do...
no place we had to be...
but, we headed to Rural King when we left...
to grab a shut off for the mower...

then through town and down this street...
to show you some pretty old ladies...
in reno...it has come a long way...
and still more to go...

I call this the lion house...
I have no clue how many lion statutes there are...
but they are everywhere...

all with larger lots and deep ones...
and pretty landscaping all along the street...

There are no two alike...
all different with their own personalities..
warm, inviting...
homes...

how many of you just fell in love?
who says love at first sight can't happen...
;0)

and all of these homes are private residences...
cared for and loved by some very lucky people...
and if you are really good and eat the good food before the dessert...
I will show you the home I want for me...
bring a napkin, cuz you're gonna drool...
;0)
have good days...
and smile...
