getting ready...

are you cooking and having the dinner or going somewhere else?

got the dinner list made...

need to make the grocery list for it...

and we are having our dinner on Saturday...

due to work schedules...

on Thursday, I am sending the old man up to the community dinner to get us meals to go...

its a free dinner, but you are allowed to make a donation...

this program is so needed in every town...

there are so many alone...

or without funds to do a traditional dinner...

so many go up to be with others so they are not alone...

we are having a neighbor come...

who is alone...

and he can come both days if he wishes...

if we all just took some time to check on those who live right around us on all occasions...

no one would be left out...

or alone...

or hungry...

thankful for all of those who help feed others, hold their hands...

send cards and letters, or visit someone alone...

or sad...

so thankful for those who believe that we are our brother's keeper...

for they heal the broken hearted...

Happy Thanksgiving...

another week closer...

its either a good day or a bad one for me lately...

like every other day I am ok...

and then the other days, not so good...

I was so sick yesterday, I had to call and cancel my ortho surgeon appointment...

but Steve went and saw his general surgeon for his colonoscopy...

got that set up for Dec 6th...

not sure if I had a tummy flu or the nitrates in the water here were high...

but the guys put me on bottled water for now and I am fine...

the cats all started throwing up about a week ago and we switched them and they were fine within hours!

we have gotten 2 $100 donations for the toy drive already...

stoked about that...

so many help out every year...

its just amazing what we can all do together...

we are looking forward to a nice, quiet weekend...

next week is going to be messed up...

Thanksgiving will be Sat, I think...

still talking about it...

Craig works Thursday...

they both work Friday...

but all of us will be home on Saturday...

great fall weekend...

still feels funny having DH home so much...

but we did get a drive in yesterday afternoon...

it was drizzly and cool out...

and we weren't gone long...

we made chicken and noodles with mashed potatoes for supper last night...

it was good...

started pushing the toy drive online...

the ducks are all in a row...

we are on our way to another great year...

so many on board with this and ready to do whatever needs done...

we have announced to the helper elves that this is probably our last year...

running things...

we can still be helper elves...

but I really have this feeling its time to hand this over to someone else...

I am not sure that God is going to give us a rest or lead us into something new...

time will tell on that...

I am just waiting on the lead to the next person(s) in charge...

He will let me know...

here comes the weekend...

both guys are off tomorrow and I don't have a single thing planned...

bad me...

we have a high of 39 today...

down in the 20s last night...

the plants that were hanging on are black now...

but I doubt if it will be a work out in the yard weekend...

we are supposed to warm back up in the high 50...

but its going to take a few days to do it...

our miss Annie went to the vet yesterday to be spayed...

and she was pregnant again...

it was still early, so they went ahead with it...

there were 5 more....

they kept her over night and DH will go there right after work and pick her up...

he's bringing Burger King whoppers and onion rings home for supper!

Annie will be glad to get home...

that's all of them done now...

whew...

had lunch already and thinking about a nap...

all the house work I wanted to get done is finished...

well, the warm weather left with the winds...

and we are cooler here and the furnace is running...

the cold thingy is going....

but its taking its old sweet time...

seems like its been around forever...

as long as its gone by the weekend...

doing a dose of cold meds every 36 hours now...

so that's better...

sinus headaches every now and then...

got a prayer request for you...

an old neighbor and special friend of mine went into the nursing home last week...

for evaluation to see if she can live on her own or not...

she is hoping to come home later this week...

she has been doing very well there and getting around ok...

I talked to her brother this afternoon...

we write back and forth...

she doesn't do the computer thing...

and she is old school...

so we have been writing for some time...

she lives in Charleston where Craig works...

I cannot go see her until this cold thingy is gone for good...

but if you could remember her in prayer for me...

for her to have better days physically and mentally...

she was down for a week or so and not feeling well...

and then got down in the dumps not getting up and about...

but she is good at the nursing home and doing much better...

just not sure she is where she needs to be to come home...

her name is Pat...

(my mom's name, too)

and old school teacher who never married...

no kids or grandkids to take care of her...

:)

but she has a great brother who lives right next door to her and helps her with all her needs...

cooks lunch and supper and takes her to church when she is able to go...
