a couple new additions...

DH found this Scottish nutcracker at Walgreens today...
$6.99...
I love the bag pipes!
and he found spiral trees 1/2 off at Rural King!
I have wanted some of these for the last few years!
$8.50 on sale!
while he was shopping...
the neighbors were partying...
there were cars all over the place...
and I finally got all the new birds on the kitchen tree...
boy there isn't going to be much under the tree this year...
we paid for both boys to get their vans fixed...
I have a few small things for them, but told them that's it...
the vans were over $300 each, that's more than enough...
loaned some of my Christmas money out a couple months ago to help a friend out and it hasn't been paid back yet...
so we have decided to wait until that happens and then we will hit the after Christmas sales...
we don't need anything, don't want anything...
we are doing a new dish washer and washer and dryer after the first of the year...
we figure they might be on sale then...
we are just not going out to buy a bunch of junk so there is stuff under the tree...
this may also be the first year when the kids haven't handed me a major list...
I think they may just be growing up...
we will be together...
and that's what's most important...
who knows what next year will hold...

I really love your bird ornaments, Tete! And your Scottish nutcracker is cute, too! We are going low key on Christmas this year. You are so right, being together is the best gift of all, and that's what's really important! Oh, next year I think I will decorate with glittered bubble wrap, what do you think?:)!

Oh I need that Scotch nutcracker!

You will be together on Christmas and that means the most of anything. 2 of the best things I got this year were family heirlooms. As one of my pts said she wanted to give her children her mothers dishes for christmas, since she could not afford gifrs and they did not want them. I think they were missing out on the true meaning of christmas...giving from the heart..not Walmart!

Have a great weekend

Hi Tete Sweetie...
How beautiful it is today Beyond the Garden Gate. I love the spiral tree, how gorgeous those are. I have been wanting one or two myself, but around here, you have to be careful they will come up into your yard in the night and steal your decorations. Life in the big city ya know.

Your tree looks so pretty in the kitchen window. I love the birds. Aren't they just so durn "Happy"? Love them. Everything looks so festive.

I hear you about the washer business and other appliances. My washer caught fire yesterday and we have spent the weekend trying to repair it. What a deal. Maybe after the first of the year, we may be trying to buy a new one as well. When it rains it pours ya know.

Oh well tomorrow is a new day. It will be better. Hope you had a beautiful Saturday sweetie. Many hugs and so much love, Sherry

Hi Tete: What a good mother you are! Your children are blessed to have you. I hope you are feeling well today. I have been very busy. I am trying to give my sister a scrapbook of her family and I am not done. No pressure! Thank you for being my freind. You are a blessing to me. Have a wonderful week. I will pray about that money owed you. Hugs, Martha
