are you ready for the weekend???
I am sure my hubby is...
been hotter than chili peppers here...
with no relief in sight...
out on the deck early in the mornings and after the sun goes down at night...
hiding in the ac during the day...
its been over a week since the yard was mowed and I don't think it needs it this week...
or next...
the sun is pretty coming through the lattice...
as long as we keep watering...
things keeps going...
my only cone flowers, which were transplanted this spring, are blooming this morning...
I would like to pick some more up, but we are not planting anything new until this weather breaks and we get some rain...
the sun coming up behind the flag...
the have cancelled the fourth of July fireworks in Paris, Il...
and they shoot theirs over the Twin Lakes, so we expect them to cancel a lot more of them...
they have issued a no burn order for our county...
there is no rain in the forecast for the next 10 days...
this is what Craig and I did earlier...
fresh green beans, potatoes and bacon...
2 pots full going right now...
so that's enough for the weekend...
this is our second mess of them...
nothing like fresh green beans and sliced tomatoes...
my ice melted instantly in my glass of water this morning...
so have a good weekend...
keep praying for rain and cooler temps...
for all of those who have lost their homes to the fires burning out of control...
safe journey to all who are traveling...
its going to be a hum dinger out there...

Loved the lattice shadowed flag.Your lawn is looking like ours...what to do...wait...pray..we will not irrigate it...not on our priorities list. Floods to the north of you and I...drought to the south...Fires to the West...Tropical storms in the deep southeast...Mother Nature is having her way... I would think that you are right about fireworks. In Cedar Rapids they will do it on the island in the river if it is not cancelled...I would warn people to be sure their dogs are safe and secure before they take off...Fireworks going off in suburbs can cause them to freak out and escape yards...every single year it is the one day the largest number of dogs go missing... HUGS to you Tete...Oh my goodness, those beans and taters look and sound awesome..I'm on my way...put a plate aside for me!!! and fresh maters.... :-) xo
Just came back to say...!!!!! right as I hit send..heard a big peal of thunder...maybe!!???!!! fingers crossed! xoxo
The picture of the frame in front of the cubbies is beautiful, Tete!!! Love that!
Sitting in the early morning sunshine is so peaceful and soothing. Especially when you see it coming through the lattice.
Those beans and taters with bacon sure look yummy. Slice up some extra tomatoes for me, would ya?
Have a great weekend, darlin'.
xxxooo
You perfectly described the weather that we're having here in South Mississippi. I'm praying for a little rain for both of us!!!
Hi Tete, It's hot and dry here too, although we were fortunate to get an inch of rain today. It came down fast and furious and the wind split a small tree in our yard. Sad for that; as the tree will have to go. :-( Really thankful for the rain, though, and praying for areas that need it to get rain. Your potatoes and beans look really good, Tete.
The flowers are looking great. Wishing for rain for both of us.
Love the play of the lattice against the flag and coming in through the window shadowing.
You know, I don't think we were too far from Paris when we came through Ohio. I saw the sign for it somewhere along the way.
It was hot here today, too, but nothing like you had. Blessings and stay cool, Tete. Hope you are feeling better- xo Diana
