hope your weekend was grand...

these were taken yesterday when my son and I went for a drive around town and just a mile or two out of town...

they were working on getting 100 car train filled and out of here...

3rd ground pile going in...

it was a very cloudy day, but no rain...

that's ice, folks!

the grain elevator is in the background...

making progress here, slow and sure...

did a little bit outside and a little bit inside...

there was one field of corn left that we could find...

can you imagine someone who would not stop eating just long enough for a couple of shots?

so I got him with his mouth full...

as much as he was eating you would think winter was coming or something...

I am sure he had no plans to stop anytime soon...

but I found someone who would look up every now and then from grazing...

pretty babies...

DH did get the day off...
and we did go for a drive, too...
those photos will be posted the next couple or three days...
got a major cold front heading this way...
and probably your way, too...
plenty of inside play time coming at us...
and if you promise not to tell...
I will let you know that there are 4 Christmas trees in my living room...
not decorated or anything like that...
we are just going through things and decided to just start putting things where they will be going...
and as I come across those "keeper" things, they will be put added to the normal decor...
and by the end of the holiday totes sorting...
the decorating should be done...
and...
all the stuff that's going will have time to find a new home by the time the fat man heads out in his sleigh...
;0)

Tete I am so glad you went for that drive. The photos are so GOOD that I couldn't even describe. My favorite is the front facing horse. Thank you for sharing them with us!

Those are wonderful, wonderful photos, Tete. I guess I never thought about trains taking the grain -always thought in terms of semi-trucks. Trains make so much more sense for the amount of grain.

Those are beautiful horses. And your "take" on all the fields and area around you- xo Diana

Tete, I love all your pictures. We are seeing more piles of corn around the elevators here also. corn prices should be low this year...bumper crops. I love how pretty those horses are. Maybe you can get a good picture if you have a carrot.LOL. xoxo,Susie

A great harvest this year! Hope the farmers get a good price for their grain. They work so hard, they deserve it. The horses are beautiful, Tete, and I love your pic of the ice on the creek and the corn in the field. You are a VERY good photographer; your images are a pleasure to the eyes!
