Sunday Drive...

the corn is up and so are some of the beans...
most of the planting is done and the rest will be in by the end of the week...

the weeds are high...
I love when the farmers let the roadsides grow up and don't mow them...
it is an effort to save wildlife in the area, giving them a place to nest and hide in...

it was a very windy afternoon when we were out...

there are even whirly gigs in here!

you can see the wind blowing the face of the water in this shot...

I remember a lot of farms looking like this as a kid...
scrap things lying about...
you don't see that much anymore...
every bit of ground is put to use...
and there are ways to get things hauled off, too...
took a down day yesterday...
going slow today and trying to catch up in here...
preparing for the guys 5 days off in a row...
cleaning out the shed and finishing the deck...
planting the rest of the flowers...
watering again tonight...
and hoping for some rain in there a little bit...
but would really like to knock off our to do list, too...
the guys are planning on cooking out for the first time, too...
like a couple of days in a row...
it is really feeling like summer here when the days are in the 80s...
had a cool night last night in the 40s when a cold front moved through and cooler today, but will be warming back up...
its just a wonderful time to be out in the yard...
;0)

Yes, I love wild flowers along a road! and didn't think, how wild stuff gives little critters cover!

That old rusty truck, should have been paid for and hauled out of there, and restored, and sold for a lot of money. where are those guys, who do this stuff!!!!!!!!!! ,-)

Such beautiful photos Tete! Everything is so green...:) Our days here are already almost unbearable hot...trying to get stuff done before we will no longer be able to stand it outside. Not complaining, just going to stay inside and enjoy the summer...:)
