almost Labor Day!

can you believe it?

weren't we just complaining about snow and ice?

this week has been hard but the worst is past...

how time flies...

the older you get...

how does that happen?

I think it should slow down as you slow down...

oh well...

need prayers for a couple of families here...

lost 2 wonderful people this week...

both elderly with many health issues...

they are painfree now...

but the families and friends are going to miss them...

have a good holiday weekend!

be safe and don't overdo...

we will pay for it next week, you know...

waiting on cooler days...

I am so tired of this tropical humidity!

BUT...

we haven't watered 10 times this year...

so that's a plus...

another BUT...

the money we have been saving on water...

has been applied to the electric bill...

these things!

are so noisy!

must be a bumper crop of them this year...

we can hear them inside with the windows closed!  

LOL

I am so looking forward to fall this year...

the cooler nights and windows open again...

its been months since they were open...

but, we made it through the rough spots...

and today should be the last really dangerous day to be out and about...

another drizzly morning...

well needed rain happened yesterday and earlier today...

a friend dropped these off last night...

milk weed plants...

been pretty sick today...

got a morning glory going wild...

spent most of the day in bed or in the bathroom...

can you see fall coming?

with springtime greeness?

the new rose of sharon...

and this year's planting of raspberries...

autumn clematis is in full bloom!

everywhere!

cleome are still at it...

I love these, and we haven't had skeeters on the deck at all this year...

pokeweed...

thanks to the birds!

its mixed in with the cleome...

and morning glories blooming in the afternoon...

but not out here...

I told you it was everywhere!

need to get my shower...

DH will get off work in a few minutes...

might just wait on him..

another dreary day here...

without much rain...

so posting the rest of the photos I took Monday...

we are not getting rain out of this system like we were supposed to...

a new rose of sharon...

deciding where its going to go...

our neighbor bought it and then decided he didn't want it...

so he gave it to us...

and wild strawberries...

and some left over rose moss from last year...

in the wheel barrow under the willow...

I love this tree!

DH and I planted the iris at the base of the door last Sunday...

they were left overs from out front when we cleaned out the flower beds and dug the iris and day lilies to thin them out...

the autumn clematis to the left is blooming now...

this is the last day of summer vacation!

the kids start back tomorrow...

I think that went by really fast...

got leaves coming down...

walnuts litter the yard and flower beds...

ready or not...

here comes fall...

I, personally, love sweater weather...

sloppy flannel shirts and sweat shirts and long pants...

and a nice warm fire in the evenings...

and the colors in the fall...

all the leaves turning...

it should be a pretty fall here...

we have been wet most of the summer so the colors will be brilliant!
