our town, yesterday...

these are the backs of the houses on Main Street...

I took these while DH was putting gas in the truck for our ride about...

you see things every day, but do you really see them?

The Oaks Manor, a senior living facility fairly new to our town...
and expensive...

not sure if anyone lives here now or not...

and one last look before we take off...

these are on Main Street, too...

do you know what they are?

its what's left of the old St Clair gas station that served so many here years ago...

some of the tin sheeting is peeling up town on one of the oldest buildings left...

then it was off to the state park...

this is the bridge going out of town...
so out of order...

and now the park again...

it was snowing yesterday...

been spitting snow for about four days...

but it was just warm enough to melt most of it as it fell...

but it was wet yesterday and stuck to things...

and it came in sideways...

our state is so broke...

all of the employees here have lost their jobs...

there is only one man working this park now...

and he does this one and one other...

must be a lonely time for him...

our ranger who has managed this park for years took his retirement...

he went to school with DH and they graduated in '73, so he took it early...

native prairie grasses...

this area is all planted in native plants...
and after what seems likes weeks of cloudy days...
the skies are blue this morning and the sun is shining brightly...
so off we go to do this area again...
because there is so much more to show you...
;)

have you ever?

taken a drive through a cemetery?

its one of my favorite things to do...

this is the oldest part of our town cemetery...

and with the zoom of the camera...

I can see places we cannot get to in the car...

there is a path back to these stones...

but no paved road...

but they are there...

very old stones from when the town was first started...

there is an older cemetery just out of town...

its first...
but when the spring floods come, you cannot get to it...

so the land for this one was donated...

and there are so many I want to photograph...

and then do their family tree, if I don't already have it done...

so many souls have come this way...

full of hopes and dreams of a better life...

full of faith...

in God and all He has to offer those on this side...

and one by one...

they were all called home...

and I am amazed at the craftmanship...

of each resting place...
of their adornments...
of the time and labor that was spent, not on in each lifetime...
but in the markers of those gone home...

have you ever just drove around one?
just because?

some good news...

soon, I will be able to do this again...
the guys had homemade pizza for supper last night...

while I worked on these...

and then this morning we headed for Paris and the surgeon's office...

I was ready to fire him and find someone else...

but he spent an hour with us and we have a new time...

we are going in for surgery next Wednesday...
and the gall bladder is coming out...

so after we got home, and since DH took the day off...

I had him take me for a ride while my tummy wasn't so sore...
but it expanded so much while we were driving around...
I am tired of the bloating...

we have several days of flurries here...
gray cloudy skies and flurries here and there...
nothing adding up right now...

but as we backed out of the drive way this morning...
I prayed for safe travel...
there and back...
on the way...
on the highway...
a pickup pulled out right in front of us...
slowly with no clue we were there...
and just sat there...
but we missed him...
for angels flew with us today...
;)
you know they are there even when you can't see them...
the car went from 60 to 20 on wet pavement in nothing flat...
;)
so, how was your day?

in the middle of the night...

I am thinking I need to do something about this addiction...

but it is keeping me busy until my body catches back up...

I think I may have to start giving some things away soon...

hope you all have a good day...

even with winter all around us...

we need our warm, sunny spots...

just to curl up in and enjoy...
find your sunspot today...
and linger...
it will do you good!
;)

where this woman creates...

I do my work right here at the kitchen table...

and its where I blog from, too...

got 9 little tags to put on the Easter tree...

and then a bigger one for the wall...

found some buttons...

I like him...

so here is the chaos that happens when I make things...
nothing glamorous going on here...

and your thought for the day...

having a so/so day...
the nausea medicine makes me feel funny...
I haven't taken any today, just waiting for it to wear off...
it seems like this stuff stays with me forever...

need prayers for a family here in town today...
Steve saw a home on fire on the way to work this morning...
and elderly lady, Louise, died in the fire...
her daughter just buried her husband last year...
and her granddaughter has lost her father and grandmother in such a short time...
they both helped with Christmas Is A Child and were such wonderful support for the program...
they could use all the prayers you can muster up for them as they continue through the week...
its just such a shock...
oh, yeah...
Louise will be walking on streets of gold...
no worries there...
she helped so many and sang in church...
hugs~
