well, it only took an hour...

to get this post ready to go...

the last of the iris right before they were dead headed this morning...

and the last batch of columbine...

they will soon fade away and go to seed like the others...

but as one thing fades, something else is just about to open...

and then there are some things that bloom forever...

now, here is the scarecrow down the street with its hat on...

there haven't been many birds at the feeders this week...

and here's why...

you can hear them singing happily in the mulberries...

there are 3 trees here for them...

we need rain...

the poor peonies are starting to scorch...

but they are still pretty...

went for a walk this morning early...

and we added a couple things here...

the gloves are washed and ready to go for the weekend...

and I made this valance yesterday, too...

along with the cushion covers...

its 2 vintage pillow cases sewn together and hemmed on the sides...

didn't take long at all...

well, I have sit here long enough so going to go find some trouble to get into...

Craig's friend just showed up...

so I might have extra labor...

if I'm lucky...

its not been a good day...

we started out here this morning...

and we got it weeded again...

moved some things around...

took a bunch of great photos...

and then this happened...

right after lunch I dumped my kool aid on the keyboard of the laptop...

it is outside drying out...

hopefully it will work again...

until then, I will be very limited to posting...

and photos...

this old desk top is just so slow...

and I will have to share it...

so I got the sewing machine out...

and made cushion covers...

on side is like this...

and the other side is like this...

made it just like a pillow case so I can get them off easy to wash...

I have a tub of scraps over there and I am just going to start in and see what happens...

I am so stressed over the laptop...

I got about 8 minutes before the man shows up...

I am so going to get it...

pray for me...

and the laptop...

three truck loads of limbs are out of the yard...

this azalea is in the north lot...

there used to be a house here many years ago...

it was one of two...

one I got the guys to move to the south side of our property, but I couldn't get them to move this one... 

the trees are actually on the railroad property...

the whole in the walnut where the limb came out of...

it grows up right in the middle of the azalea...

we mow past our line as far as we can to keep the weeds down and skeeters...

but they came after me like I was a grand buffet when I went closer for photos...

the corn is growing fast...

we found the doves nest!

sadly, we have found a few baby birds in the yard after the storm...

the wind just blew them out of the nest...

our funny shaped tree now...

but we are thankful we didn't lose the tree...

it will fill in later...

and the pile back there is gone...

finally caught up on that...

queen ann's lace is way over my head by the railroad...

no wonder the allergies are back...

so much for a do nothing day...

but it was good to have that all done...

so the mower guys can get to where he needs to mow without having to duck...

on my way back to bed soon...

its 2am...

big yawn...

I loved my do nothing day...

got the deck linens washed up today and put back on...

and its so much better without the air mattress...

so I spent some time there...

and then we took another walk...

but this time I took the camera...

our neighbor has been cutting on this tree all week long...

he cuts and then he burns what he has ready...

and then starts all over the next evening...

doves on a wire...

I love this scarecrow...

just put up, too...

has a big floppy hat that fell off that covers the coffee can head...

bean field coming up...

look how dry it is already!

bees...

honey bees...

there is this hedge row full of blooms and they were very busy in here today...

I think its a crab apple...

and me...

and Bebe...

Elmer...

peonies, again...

and again...

we just plopped down in the grass and everyone came to see us...

I wish these would last all summer...

but they won't...

I rode with DH tonight to haul a couple of loads of branches to the dump...

he is doing one more load and then we will do supper...

Pooder...

we still have a fee iris left...

and Daphne...

and the camera cord...

I just had to slow down today...

just one of those days...

but it was a good day to do it...

could get rain tomorrow and for sure on Thursday...

probably a good time for some housework...

not a lot going on today...

its a rest up day for me...

been doing too much...

wanting to get back up and going...

it takes steps, though...

lots and lots of steps...

but I am getting there...

had some paint in the shed...

use what you've got first...

so the swing frame went black again...

I really wanted it white...

but you work with what you have...

the lavender is looking pretty...

there was a tad left in the can...

so hit this lamp post with it...

it was a celery green before...

got linens in the wash...

took the air mattress off of here...

it just did nothing for my back, so I wasn't using this at all...

back to the flat cushions for now...

but looking for a regular mattress for it...

going to head back out and see what I can get into now...

it won't be much...

I might just walk around...

and plan for later...
