Easter egg hunt and some fun stuff, too...

the square up town all ready for the hunt...

'these aren't my nuts!"
he was busy checking the eggs out right before they turned the kids loose...

this side was for the 1-3 year olds, so the parents help them out...
not as many as we normally have and it was a wonderful day for it!

and here is the guy we went to see...
Mr Eli...
wasn't too sure what was going on...

he did get a few eggs...
but then gave all his candy away to some chicks...

"driving" the cannon...

and hiding under it...
he had a good day...

its hard work finding eggs and driving a cannon...
he was getting so tired...

and now for some fun...
the magnolia tree in the neighbor's yard...

and another neighbor's pear tree...

and back to our yard...
it really, finally looks like spring...
and today it felt like it, too...

the violets are back and so are the dandy lions...

the beds are beginning to fill in more...

lilies...

the ferns are uncurling!

azalea...

grape hyacinths...

squill...

and more daffodils...
there's some smaller squill in front of them...
our high today was 73...
had to take off my sweat shirt working out in the yard...

our dinner yesterday went really well...
no photos of that...
bad me...
but we all had full bellies...
and the kids brought Bella with them, so Bella and Gabby got to play together one more time...
and Gabby is at her new home now...
seems awfully quiet around here with no babies...
and it was peaceful with just me and the old man most of the day...

I have to make up DH and Craig's easter bags yet tonight...
jelly beans and chocolate bunnies for them!
peeps on a stick and a rubber duckie with bunny ears for Craig...

Happy Easter to you and your families...
and thanks to Jesus for dying for all of us...
and for God sending his son to save us all...

an Easter story...

this is Gabby...
the last baby we have here...
Gabby has a very special job now...
you see, someone wants her so bad...
a little girl...
a very brave little girl...
a child who had a brain tumor...
one who has fought so hard and now its gone...
and all she wants for Easter is a baby kitty...
so Gabby is going to go live with her...
and those two are going to have the most amazing adventures together...
I so believe that God made Gabby for this little girl...
and I am so glad he picked us to get her ready for her new friend...
that we took the time to love and play with her...
to make sure she will be loved later on...
Gabby is so ready to do her new job...
to make this little girl smile...
to have tea parties and watch movies with...
to grow up together...
;)
its days like this that make all the sleepless nights worth while...
when you are allowed to know just how special these babies are...
;)
Gabby leaves tomorrow...
a new beginning for them both...
;)

its about time...

starting today, we are back in the 60s...

and the snow that didn't amount to a hill of beans, didn't seem to slow things down...

so much coming forth...

a week from today could see 78...

peonies are coming up...
this is a new one we planted last year...

called the mower guy today to get this season of bailing hay started...

it went from being half brown to swaying in the breeze in a couple of days...

so by the weekend, we could be baling the grass...

I had a very good day yesterday and got so much done...

a migraine tried to come on, but got it nipped in the bud...

took a walk even...

we are having our Easter dinner tomorrow, so probably won't be on until late...

so much to do and all that...
today is a day of rest for me...
have to lie low so I can do this on Friday...
Craig is working the entire weekend and his hours are so crazy...
Friday is the only day he could do it...
blessings to you and yours this weekend...
and remember why we do this one...
the greatest sacrifice ever given...
;)

yesterday was a down time day...

it looked nice out there with the sun shining and all...

but it wasn't...

but it was a good day to take pics from inside...

and we have another naughty squirrel...

took it a little while to figure out how to eat the bird seed...

and after several failed attempts...

tada!

and I caught one of the doves napping...
I must be rubbing off...

they are so pretty...

and well fed...

the robins are kind of skinny...
but when it warms up, there are enough worms out there to fatten them up...

I love the daffodils...

so much color from such a simple spring flower...

and they are so nice to have inside after the long, so cold winter...

I don't think you could ever plant too many of them...

I didn't get to read one page today...
was on the computer a lot, though...
reading and sharing...

and I even found a home today for Annie...
and she is doing so well with her new mommy...
Shannon and Annie are already best buddies...
and a late night post on fb showed her in mom's bed...
all cuddled up with her...
she is going to be one happy baby there...
;)

just one more to go...
little Gabby...
very small but so much fun...
it was a blessing filled day...
I hope you had one of those, too...
;)

yesterday was another semi busy day...

its was a rainy, colder day here...

and besides a daffodil photo shoot...
(so glad these were inside!)

the kitchen needed some major help after the running all weekend...
so between dishes and just putting things away...
( new treasures were just piled on the kitchen table )

I peeled potatoes and fried them...
made cole slaw...
steamed some broccoli...
did some laundry...

did dishes again...
ate lunch...
and even got a nap in...

and why are we up at 3:30am?
just to see this...
the moon eclipsed by Mars...

and to witness the snowfall before it melts later on today...
that's what we got after dark...
that is not my favorite thing at all anymore...

I worked all day, slowly, but steadily...
with no flairs...
but today is my down day...
and I have started one of the romance paper backs...
so guess what I will be doing...
reading by the daffodils until spring comes back...

have a blessed day and keep warm!
;)
