we got rain...

it went from humid, dark and rainy...
Canadian geese...

to sunny, hot and steamy...
I shot a buck!

we got a good shower right before lunch...
.6 worth...
enough not to have to water...

good thing...
I took so many aspirin and ibuprofen between 2am and 9:30 am...
there was nothing sore about it...
it turned to pain...

then the evening was fairly good...
but here I am again...
in the wee hours of the morning...
hurting...
so took some ibuprofen and waiting for them to work so I can head back to bed...
left shoulder and the shoulder blade up into the neck...
I did too much last weekend...
but I really feel good...
I know that probably doesn't make any sense...
but I have energy and just feel good in spite of the shoulder...

dew point is in the 70s and its supposed to heat up the rest of the week...
the hot part of summer has arrived, or will...
got several inside projects lined up...
and will work outside in the early mornings and in the evenings...
I did clean the deck yesterday...
got some inside stuff done last night after supper...
need to hit the laundry today...
hampers are full...

have good days...

I was sore beyond words...

when I crawled out of bed yesterday morning...
but pain meds got me back out there...

Charlie peeing where I was going to sit...
had to move operations a bit to the south...
but we got it all done...

5 trips total to the city dump...
and we weren't hit bad at all, not like some were around here...

not many left of these at all...
a handful, scattered all over...
just one more day of them...

I sat under the maples in the back and started on the next project...
I did get that all raked up back there...
its a start...

MR WIGGLES loves a good dirt bath...

got stuff done outside and some stuff inside...
made spaghetti, cleaned out the fridge, and did some laundry...

he follows me everywhere...

the bakers rack that Craig painted...
he picked the color...
not bad...
;o)

it was a lovely day...

our poor old wagon has gotten a good workout this weekend...
hauling, hauling, hauling...
I suppose one day we will have to replace it...
its over 21 years old now and has been used and abused...
I used to take my kids and neighbor kids for rides around the yard in it...
back in her glory days...

spent the first part of the morning by the beans...

DH a sawing and me with my pruners...
cutting limbs down so they would fit in the truck bed...

in the shade under the maple trees...

it was 63 when I got up and there was a good breeze all day long and no humidity...
the high was right around 80, so it was just the perfect day to be out in the yard...

the best work gloves I have ever had...
period...

we moved onto the big guy...
it was pretty good size...

its not our tree, but fell on us...
so we took it down...
well, most of it...

a future project,  just in case you had the idea we were caught up or something...
;o)
like that would ever happen...
hauling to the dump today...
and cleaning up...

hope you have a wonderful day...
and a safe one...

storm damage and a trip to the ER...

Wednesday started out like a beautiful day...
and after lunch, I checked my son's legs for swelling...
and found a very nasty dark, swollen left leg...
just above the ankle and going up 5 inches or so all the way around...
I called my husband home, changed my clothes and took that boy to the ER...
it wasn't a blood clot, my biggest fear...
but he has cellulitis...
and they gave him antibiotics...
we grabbed his meds, stopped and ate supper before heading home...
the rain began before we got the hospital and continued to pour on our way home...
it lightened up just as we came into our town...
we were inside maybe 10 minutes when IT hit...
I saw rotation in the trees, big trees...
it hit hard, fast and didn't last long...

we are ok-
we lost 2 big limbs on the edges of the yard...
lots of debris...

on the north edge...

the neighbor's across the street...

we were very lucky...
there were trees on houses in town...
my friend lost his truck when a tree fell on it in another town over...
NO ONE WAS HURT!

it had to be a tornado aloft and it never touched down...
so grateful for no damage to anything important here...
and that we were home and not on the road in the van when it hit...

Doug's leg was already improving yesterday after one dose...
he was so afraid to show us...
or go to the doctor...
I jerked a knot in his tail...
never hide anything like that again...

yesterday was a slower day, Craig going back to work and dropping Doug off at home on his way...
having peace and quiet for my nap...
DH getting off work and us running to another town to pick up his new glasses...
a quick trip through Dollar Tree and grabbing a bite to eat on the way home...

TONIGHT- when DH gets home...
he wants me on the mower, pulling the wagon while he walks the yard and picks up what cannot be mowed...

so much for a slower, more quiet weekend...
;o)
but we are ok and that's what matters most...

hope you missed that storm, Susie...

so thankful...

for the time we had together these last four days...

thankful that we got so much done...
the guys really worked hard...
and I am most thankful that I could keep up with them...
that my energy and stamina are coming back...
its been a long battle...

I am so thankful for discarded junk that someone else was tired of and no longer saw the worth...

there are still things to do...
which we can putter out throughout the rest of the summer...

the big guy (DH) heads back to work today...
Craig still has one more day and Doug is still here until Thursday...

we have so neglected the inside...
I did get our laundry done yesterday and DH got in for his eye exam...
it was late in the afternoon, so the glasses weren't ready in time...
so we may go back Thursday evening and he will take me out to supper...
;o)

I went off he metformin on Sunday...
I didn't want to be sick the entire weekend...
and it was making me so sick...
the funny thing is...
(I keep a log)
my blood sugar is better off of the Januvia and Metformin...
;o)
weird...

the weather was so good, too...
nice a cool with daily breezes...
we about to heat things back up again and the humidity is climbing...
so grateful for perfect days...
while we knocked off one project after another...
;o)
God is good...

have a great day...
